He stands in the back of the Press Room, watching her thwart off the questions of the reporters. He waits until she looks in his direction. He crosses his hands over his heart. Then he mouths the words to her: Forgive me.



She can't forgive him. He's such an ass! Her nostrils flare at the first sight of him there. He doesn't know. He doesn't understand what it's like to be beaten for simply living. And it doesn't seem as if he wants to know.



He's so stupid! Typical man-he can't see what's right there in front of him. For the past, what, 3, 4, 5 years-she's been there the whole time! If only he'd open his eyes and take the opportunity-all six feet of it. He's such an idiot! Inwardly, she rolls her eyes, blinking back fury. She can't forgive him.



She sighs. She has to forgive him. He's Toby.



She nods abstractly towards the back of the Press Room, and he knows it's okay.
